The Potter's Wheel is an exciting family church. The Potter's Wheel Church mission is to: Encourage through promoting fellowship with God and man, through worship, prayer, His Word, in counsel and community for lifting up Christ and encouraging unity in this house and to other ministries of faith. Edify by providing progress through the hearing of the Word, maturity, stability and integrity in individual lives resulting in growth for the whole body of Christ. Equip by preparing, training, perfecting and cultivating lives to be fully qualified for His service. Engage by releasing individuals to serve, yielding ourselves completely to the power of the Holy Spirit to perform in us His purpose for our lives as we step out to fulfill the Great Commission. The Potter's Wheel name was taken from the book of Jeremiah (chapter 18) where the Lord gives the prophet Jeremiah a command to go down to the Potter's House. When he gets there, he sees the potter working away at a lump of clay (us), molding and fashioning it into a vessel of honour for His use, on the wheel. His hands pressed down on the clay and pressured the clay into being formed as he wanted it. The water was skillfully poured into it to keep the clay soft and pliable, until eventually the potter was able to look at it and smile with great joy, turn and place it onto the shelf (to undergo further testing in the oven) for His use. This picture is the picture we feel God wants us to keep remembering. God wants us on his wheel, upon which He continues to mold and shape us, pouring His love into and through us, for His glory. Interestingly, there were many pots that were cracked and seemingly of no use. But not so, all could be taken, smashed (rock bottom) and built up again. We all have another chance in Christ. God is leading us. |
