The women's centre is now located at The Ark, in Ezulweni. The Ark had been our TCMI Life Skills School, prior to moving to Bulembu in May of 2007. It is a great location. For years, we have been pressed to open a women's centre to meet the needs of young ladies with life controlling habits. We just could not get the right leader. The centre requires significant commitment from female leaders. Many strong leaders had been interviewed but simply had not been able to give the commitment needed. It is an all encompassing function, covering every weekend and week day and night Earlier this year, Glenda Stephens made clear her call to serve and help young ladies in abuse and with life controlling habits. Glenda has begun to prepare the facility for women and has cleaned out the units, repainted it, put new beds in and started to stock up the facility ready for occupation. We have four staff members on site with Glenda leading them. The program is run on the guidelines of "the good place to be" and opened on August 1, 2007. . |
